Hello,

I am trying to include French taxes (named TVA 19,6%) on my catalook store.
I read the admin documentation but I can’t find the solution.

I want to be able to manage and display every prices with taxe included. Ex: I create a new product with price=39€ taxe included, it should display 39€ on product list and product detail.
But I need to display taxes on the cart and the bill, just for legal reasons. Ex : Total = 39€ all taxes included, of whom 7.64€ TVA

What I have done : I create a tax zone, and specify 19.6% for France. It works, because taxe was immediately added to all prices. In store settings, I checked option price type = ‘ taxe incl.’
My problem is the following : All taxes are added to prices, while I wanted them to be include in price. So customers can see now 46,64€ tax incl., they should see 39€ tax incl.
I try a lot of things, but with no success…

So is there a simple way to specify that taxes are already included in the price ? Or should I enter all prices in tax excl. ?

The site is Extensions-hair.com, temporary with tax = 0% because of this problem...

Thanks for you help

In the store settings page, have you checked the section that says including tax or excluding tax. It's in the store settings page.

Yes, I tried to change this parameter.
If I set taxe included, displayed price is too hight because tva is added to my price witch already include tva
If I set taxe excluded, displayed price looks to be ok because taxe is excl, but when taxe appears in checkout process and in invoice, price is again too big

So in both cases, all taxes are added to the price I set on my products.
It is just easier for me to set prices with tax included, because it is easier to say that the prise is 39€ tax incl than 32,608 tax excl.
But is it possible to do this?

thanks for your help!

Nicolas

OK, perhaps it is impossible, so I've changed all my prices to tax excl. and set store setting to tax including.
It works perfectly, but not easy to manage prices like 32,608 € to be sure that users will see excactly 39,00 € !!!

Ok, finally I found the answer, it was in changes section of new features :

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO ENTER PRICES WITH TAX SINCE 5.9.6

Changes:

5.9.6: CATALooK.netStore -> Store Settings -> Price Type. If ‘tax incl.’ display is selected, prices of the products and fixed prices in product price rules must be entered now without tax!

5.9.8: CATALooK.netStore -> Store Settings -> Price Type. If ‘tax incl.’ display is selected, fixed surcharges from option selections and combinations of options and selections, fixed prices in cart price rule formulas and shipping charges from custom shipping rates must be entered now without tax!

To bulk update previously entered prices with tax included, you could execute the following script via Host -> SQL (‘Run As Script’ must be turned off)

Update {databaseOwner}CAT_Products

Set unitcost = unitcost / (1+XX/100)

(Replace XX by the tax percentage amount)

After that: CATALooK.netStore -> Store Settings -> click on the ‚Clear Cache’ link

Hi,

Thanks for your post Nicolas! I'm having the same issue with Catalook 6.0.2 and I find it really annoying that this has been changed (in older versions it worked fine). Does anybody know why this has been changed? It was much easier to just select 'incl TAX' and fill out the full amount instead of amount - tax.

Is this a bug or was there a reason for this change?

Cheers

I am not sure, but it seems to be the only good solution for all using specific tax for each country, customer, product...

So the parameter 'incl tax' is just to say if you want to display prices with or without tax, but with no impact on the way you will edit it : tax excl!!!
